High Street SOS
High Street SOS - Save On-Street Spaces!
Under proposals recently put forward by Somerset County Council, if powers are granted on 1st April (nice choice of date!!) then there is the real possibility that new parking meters will be brought to the high streets of Somerset's market towns. Taunton council have already used these powers - called Civic Parking Enforcement - to put in place parking meters where previously shoppers could 'stop n shop'.
CrewkerneTown.org asks a simple question: how will this high street tax, this tax on shoppers, help our local small businesses at this difficult time?
If YOU are concerned that a shoppers tax will damage local small businesses and deter shoppers, please join our campaign - on Facebook (see below), write to your County Councillor, display a poster, or sign our petition...

If you would like to help in getting people to sign a petition to help support local, small businesses, why not download our petition and get people you know to sign? Petitions can be scanned and emailed to me, posted to me (pls email for my address) or left at The Menders, Frank's Sandwich Bar or Dailys.
Thanks for supporting your high street!
