Save Crewkerne Recycling Centre

recyling centre
In late 2010, spending cutbacks at Somerset County Council meant  the Crewkerne Recyling Centre, among others, was under threat of closure. A petition and much civic action followed. Happily, along with other communities, a number of concessions were obtained which meant that, while having to charge for entry, the site remained open.

Crewkerne Town Council put funds from local taxes into subsidising the entry cost, to try to offset the new admission charge.

All locals are urged to 'use it or lose it' and anyone going there will be impressed by the clean and orderly state and efficiency of staff and process - so it is recommended.

For further information on the latest news of the site, click to visit the new Town Council website. If you wish to add your voice to supporting recycling in Crewkerne, you are welcome to contact the Town Council or you could visit the Facebook site.
